We also had the opportunity to take part in a basketball competition organised by the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) in September 2010. Our junior teams came in 2nd and 3rd place. The competition allowed the students to interact with students in other special schools in Singapore. It was indeed an eye-opener to see the high standard of basketball playing among the schools and our students gain a great deal of experience through their participation.

The most common purposes for swimming are recreation, exercise, and athletic training. Recreational swimming is a good way to relax, while enjoying a full-body workout. With these benefits in mind, Metta School set out to introduce swimming as a form of CCA, a few years ago.

In Metta, students are given the opportunity to play the world’s most popular team sports, Soccer. Metta Soccer CCA caters to boys aged 12 to 18 years old. Students of any physical build and ability are welcomed to play this simple and exciting game.
Our CCA teachers use simple and fun methods that involve all students constantly. Students will find playing soccer immediately rewarding as it is a great conditioning activity.

Manicure
The manicure class started since March 2004. To date, it has a total of 22 students who practise weekly for one and a half hour as a co-curricular activity every Wednesday. The students learn about basic manicure like, product knowledge, nail problems, selection of nails shapes, nail shaping techniques, cuticle trimming techniques, hand massage, nail polish application, nail art technique and free hand painting.

Come Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays - youthful chatter and light-hearted footsteps echo along the walkway of Pasir Ris E!Hub and Tampines Safra, as groups of Metta School students make their way to the bowling centres for their weekly practice sessions.
The one and half hour long session is punctuated with shrieks, claps, moans and groans. Emotions fluctuate with the turn of a ball, eyes glisten and faces light up with joy at a strike or a spare. Badminton
Badminton is one of the popular CCA sports which our students choose to participate in.
The number of students who opt for this sports increases each year. By far, the school has discovered and nurtured many talented players. These students have since represented the school in various tournaments organized by external agencies, to name a few, Special Olympics, SDSC National Disability Badminton League and Pilot Pen Badminton Tournament.

Lion Dance
Since its establishment in Year 2003, Metta School Lion Dance troupe, comprising both the alumni and new members has grown in skill and popularity. The troupe practices once a week under the supervision and guidance of a dedicated instructor. Appointed student leaders also play their part to impart the fundamentals of this performing skill.
